Best New York (NY) Digital Transcription

A digital transcription service takes digital recordings from digital recorders in the form of wav or mp3 formats. You can upload digital files to an digital audio transcription service online that transmits large files such as www.yousendit.com, www.sendbigfiles.com or an FTP site. If possible, use an MP3 format as the sizes are smaller and will take less time to upload. It is important to note that digital audio files and digital video files are far larger in byte size than a word processed document like Word, so a regular email service won't be able to send the file as they do not have that built in capacity.

Previously if you had recordings via audio cassette tape, you would either drop them off at a transcription service company or mail them by regular mail or FedEx. If you prefer to use cassettes at this point, you can still use this technology to get audio transcribed, although many more people today use digital technology rather than cassette tapes (called analog format). However, if you have analog tapes, our voice to text transcription service can convert the tape into digital media. In addition, if you do use tape cassette recorder, definitely use a standard tape cassette recorder over a micro cassette format where the quality will vastly inferior.

Digital files have advantages over the older analog format. They can be accessed at all times and it will be easy to find certain segments of the recording. In addition, one can put in time codes with such software as Express Scribe or the Stop Start Transcription System. Also, if one has a lot of material to transcribe, a digital transcription service can send out digital files to a number of individuals online, who can then download the digital files from the internet right into their computers.
